Physics for Flash Games

On Thursday this week, I’m doing a presentation on Physics for Flash Games at the London Flash Platform User Group. It’s a tricky presentation to plan because there’s such a wide range of knowledge and ability among the audience but I think I’ve come up with a presentation that has something for everyone. Hope to see lots of London Flash users there. There’s no membership requirement so if you’re interested just turn up. Casual Multiplayer Gaming

Until recently I wasn’t sure if casual multiplayer gaming was possible. In my experience, multiplayer gaming required a serious investment of time and energy.

But I spent most of yesterday afternoon playing Zwok, a multiplayer game that is so simple, and so much fun, I figure there may be something to learn from it. (And if I do learn from it I won’t have to write off yesterday afternoon as wasted time). So here’s a brief summary of my thoughts so far…

Free sudoku puzzles for your website

Last week, over at Strictly Sudoku, we launched a new game for use on other people’s sites. This flash game features a new sudoku puzzle every day and may be placed on any website free of charge. The game features many of the cool features from Strictly Sudoku’s own puzzles. Anyone wishing to host the game may link directly to the swf on the Strictly Sudoku site or may download the swf and place it on their own web server. Finite State Machines for AI in Actionscript

A few months ago I said I’d post about the AI in Stick Sports Soccer. Here, at last, is the first such post looking at the code used to implement the Finite State Machines in this and other games I’ve developed.
